Message from Program Leadership
Dear Fellowship Candidates,
Welcome to the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Allergy & Immunology fellowship page. In Mississippi, we are known for our warm hospitality, and we would like to extend that same warm welcome to you virtually as we would in person.
We believe that one of the most important features of our fellowship program is a welcoming environment, that fosters a positive work environment. We also pride ourselves on providing a rich and multidimensional learning environment. As such, our fellows are exposed to a broad range of patients, diseases, and procedures through their work at our four clinical sites within two hospital settings, the University and the VA. Patient care is taught through a combination of adult and pediatric continuity and elective Allergy and Immunology clinics, balanced equally in a 50/50 experience.
Our educational curriculum is provided in various forms, including lectures, journal clubs, case conferences, and hands-on workshops. All fellows participate in scholarly activity and research, developing their own research protocol with a research mentor. Additionally, the fellows have opportunities for scholarly writing with attending physicians, abstract presentations at regional and national meetings, and participation as a sub-investigator in clinical trials.
At the University of Mississippi Medical Center, we believe that our job is to train fellows who will help move the field of Allergy and Immunology forward. Upon completion of the fellowship program, our fellows are trained to become outstanding clinical, educational, and research leaders. Please browse our website to learn more about our training program. We hope you consider us!
